Juz, a three-piece rock band known for their driving songs that pursue riffs and grooves, will release their 7th single, "Needle Down" on March 25, 2026.
Juz's 5th release, "Reboot" is gaining attention with over 100 radio airplay across Europe, North America, Asia and other regions (Source: MusicDNA Report). Despite being completely unknown, the music video surpassed 10,000 total views shortly after the previous release.
Like previous releases, this song has been written, composed, and artwork designed by vocalist and guitarist Juz. The music video for this song - themed around "love for vinyl", was shot with the band members paying homage by dressing as musicians from the 70's. This is a song that showcases Juz at their best, featuring a crunchy guitar sound intertwined with a pulsing groove.
The recording took place in April 2024. Until then, Juz had built their career as a four-piece band. However, just before recording, their former guitarist left, forcing vocalist Juz to suddenly take on guitar duties as well, resulting in the band becoming a trio. "When I heard he intended to leave the band, my mind went blank. There was no other option but for me to play guitar, so I did.” said Juz. "Once we became a trio, I felt this was the natural form Juz should have been. Even when things seem hopeless, if you just try, you can make it work. We created something amazing, and I'm surprised myself.”
Why "love for vinyl" now? “I thought it was culturally cool to deliberately embrace the inconvenience of vinyl records in this day and age.” said Juz. “I don't think we should go back to the record era at all. Actually, I didn't even have a record player until the video shooting for this song. I just wanted to express my respect to the pioneers with this song.”
The music video for this song is scheduled to be released on Juz's YouTube channel on 12pm, Saturday, March 28, 2026 (JST). A commemorative live performance will be held at Black & Blue in Kichijoji, Tokyo, on March 24th as the first day for their release tour "Drop Down the Needle!".

On Thursday, January 30, 2025, Juz, the flag-bearer of “GrooveCore,” which focuses on riffs and grooves, have released their first album “Freeedom” on physical CD through Numb3 Records. The album will be released digitally and streaming one song at a time as a single, starting with the songs for which Juz has finished shooting and editing the music videos on her own.
The recording of this album had been planned for several years, but was repeatedly postponed due to a succession of guitarist changes, and finally decided to record at the end of 2023. Since the studio was cancelled and a replacement could not be found in time, Juz suddenly assumed the role of guitarist and forced the recording to go ahead.
The recording session of Juz, who became a guitarist in a hurry, is described in the following article: “Juz on the ragged edge?! : Juz recording documentary” was released, and received favorable reviews from all quarters as quite interesting. And mastering was finally completed in September 2024. As Juz told "I am amazed at how great work I did." the 10 songs on the album are breathtaking, and the album has been released on January 30, 2025 (Thu). The physical CD version will be available for purchase online as well as by hand at the live concert venue. The band started in April 2024 as a trio. This work “Freedom” is their official debut as Juz.
In April 2024, the former guitarist left the band, which had previously consisted of four members, just before recording. The band suddenly became a trio, with vocalist Juz doubling as the guitarist. Around the end of the 1990s, she and current drummer Yusuke Yoshioka performed as Sanova Gun and released two CDs from Freiheit. After the band disbanded, she taught herself DTM and formed Juz. She plays vocals, guitar, writes lyrics, composes music, directs and shoots music videos, and is the proud owner of a 1979 Les Paul Deluxe Gold Top.

After playing with George Pie and Diddie wa Diddy, he formed Sputnik Kombinat (now Funk-Ration) in the early 2000s. He plays a Rickenbacker fretless bass and produces one-of-a-kind, agonizing grooves. He studied under the late Koh Morota, formerly of Doom.
